The hearing is expected to focus on the events of January 6, 2021 attack, including what former President Trump was doing during the 187-minute period between the beginning of the assault at the Capitol and his public tweet in response.
On Face The Nation on Sunday, Jan. 6th Committee member Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) said: “I’ll give you this preview, the President didn’t do very much but gleefully watch television during this timeframe.”
Matthew Pottinger, Trump’s deputy national security adviser, and Sarah Matthews, a Trump press aide, are expected to testify at Thursday’s hearing. Both resigned on January 6.
ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, NBC, NPR, PBS, and C-SPAN are expected to provide live coverage.
